Appia Antica Weeds: THREE STEPS TO BOTANY
Course on botany to learn how to recognize the plant species present in the Appia Antica Park, exploring fields and woods, learning all about the plant’s culinary and medical uses too.
The use of identification keys and guides to determine by yourself the species related to the plants and discover the importance of scientific names. The course will also focus on plant breeding e techniques.
The lessons are held in Italian by Giovanni Salerno botanist, florist, friend of the Hortus Urbis.
The complete course will last three days from morning to afternoon on April 19th, April 26th and May 3rd,
it is also possible to attend to single OPEN lessons.

Hortus Urbis at the former paper mill “ Cartiera Latina”, via Appia Antica, 42 /50 (near the fountain), Rome
Bike: Cristoforo Colombo bike route and Circonvallazione Ardeatina.
Bus: 118 and 218 on the Appia Antica (Domine Quo Vadis stop) or 30express, 714 and 715 (Cristoforo Colombo/Bavastro stop or Cristoforo Colombo/Circonvallazione Ostiense stop) and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.
Car: parking at via Carlo Conti Rossini, Largo Gavaligi, via Omboni, via Scott and surroundings and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park
