Sunday, April 29th, we are pleased to invite you to the outdoor Spring activities of the Hortus Urbis, the garden in the Appia Antica Park with solely ancient Roman plants.
At 11 am – “I SEGRETI DELLA TERRA” | for little gardeners in Italian, by Hortus Urbis
We will discover “how” to make soil and “what” to do with soil. We will layer differ soils in a transparent vase, to take home and cultivate, so that everyone can have some land all for its self!

At 11 am – “ACQUERELLI NELL’ORTO” | for little painters in Italian, by Gioia Marchegiani
To paint is beautiful, to paint outdoor surrounded by nature is good for you! Observing shapes, mixing colors and being inspired by nature children will be free to express their personal way of seeing and feeling.

It is strongly recommended to sign up with an advanced payment on line. Every workshop costs 10 euro per child or 8 euro with Carta amici del Parco, except for the readings. To sign up send an email to hortus.zappataromana@gmail.com. Be sure to send the email by 12 am of Friday April 27th. You will receive payment instructions. It is possible to sign up on the spot only for the remaining availability 10 euro per child payment on site.

Hortus Urbis at the former paper mill “ Cartiera Latina”, via Appia Antica, 42 /50 (near the fountain)
Bike: Cristoforo Colombo bike route and Circonvallazione Ardeatina.
Bus: 118 on the Appia Antica (Domine Quo Vadis stop) or 30express, 2018, 714 and 715 (Cristoforo Colombo/Bavastro stop or Cristoforo Colombo/Circonvallazione Ostiense stop) and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.
Car: parking at via Carlo Conti Rossini, Largo Gavaligi, via Omboni, via Scott and surroundings and then short walk along the Circonvallazione Ardeatina in the Scott Park.
